Date Palm Festival of Kebili

Kebili is an ideal destination for amateurs of beautiful desert landscapes. Between oases and palm groves, people visiting Kebili, a particularly exotic city, can only be delighted. Known in particular for its date palms, Kebili hosts, between November and December, thousands of festival attendees for the International Festival of Palm Dates.

This festival, now existing for more than 30 years, aims to emphasize the importance of palm trees as a historical symbol and source of development in the region.

The International Festival of Palm Dates is known to offer a rich and diverse program during each edition. It includes a market dedicated to the sale of fresh dates, directly from the producer to the consumer, thus promoting fair trade. The date market is the main attraction of the festival overall. Alongside the event, we find an international fair of crafts and trades, a trade exhibition of dates, but also a traditional cooking competition. The latter allows to promote the unique features of the Tunisian market, but also its products. Different performances by Tunisian and / or Arab artists will charm a curious audience of all ages.

The International Festival of Palm Dates is also open to the world and particularly Africa with the participation of several countries such as: Algeria, Libya, Chad, Niger or the Comoros Islands.

The event is obviously open to the general public. You will receive from the Kebilians an unparalleled welcome, which guarantees you a total change of scenery and a unique experience not to be missed.
